Camp Schedules

Band Camp “Opening” – July 31st

Report to Krise Hall

  • Seniors:  1:30PM
  • Juniors:  2:15PM
  • Sophomores:  2:50PM
  • Freshman:  3:30PM

Special Notes:

  • Do not report earlier than your designated time.
  • Parents must sign their student in to band camp.
  • Students will then be assigned a room, given a room key, given a food bracelet and allowed to unpack their belongings.
  • All medicine that has to be taken by a student must be clearly marked and turned into the directors.

Band Camp “Closing” – August 5th

  • Parents to pick up their child at 1:00PM.
  • Parents are not permitted in students’ room until rooms have been inspected.
  • Parents may assist students with loading personal belongings after inspection.
  • Students leaving band camp with someone other than a parent or guardian must complete and return an “Alternative Transportation” form prior to camp.
  • Band will perform at 2:00PM, weather permitting.
  • Students will be dismissed at the end of band performance.

Daily Camp Schedule

Students should understand the daily camp schedule.  A schedule will be priovided to all students at the first day of camp.  Schedules may change as needed.

 

 

Crazy Creekers: 

Our goal for the week is to learn our first half-time show, pre-game show, and develop lasting friendships and camaraderie with band members and staff.  And perhaps, solve a murder mystery!!! 

There is no doubt that each of you will work hard during band camp week.  With hard work comes discipline, character, and self-gratification.  This will, in turn, lead to good habits and set the tempo for the rest of the school year.

Band Camp Summer Help

Individuals with interest in providing help during Band Camp 2011 need to print, complete, and provide the form below to the band director.

 

Theme Days

Each day at “Band Camp 2011 - Murder Mystery Week” we will have a special theme.  Prizes will be given daily so please participate.

  • Monday:  Crazy Hat Day
  • Tuesday:  Crazy Sock Day
  • Wednesday:  Door Decorating
  • Thursday:  Favorite Team 
  • Friday:  Creek Pride Day

  

Please bring your clothing and materials for each theme day.

Packing List

It is very important that you have all of the items needed for band camp including musical, clothing, personal, and food.  A packing list is attached below for your use.  Some items are required so pay close attention to the list.

Special Notes: 

  • Do not bring TVs or game systems.  Students will not have enough time in their rooms to use them.  Additionally, you will be carrying all items up and down several flights of stairs, so pack wisely.
  • Due to food allergies, please do not bring peanut butter in any form.
  • Only one mini fridge is allowed per room.  Organize your room with your roommate prior to arriving.

Rules and Guidelines

The following rules and guidelines will be enforced throughout the entire band camp week.  Both students and parents should understand and follow them completely.

  • All medicine that has to be taken by a student must be clearly marked and turned into the directors.
  • $250.00 charge for any lost keys.
  • Students will be assigned a food bracelet which is to be worn the entire stay.  Students removing the bracelet will not be allowed to eat in the cafeteria.  No exceptions!
  • No visitation during band camp.  Family members and friends are not welcome back at band camp until check-out on Friday, July 30th at 1:00PM.
  • Students are not allowed to have vehicles at band camp.  No exceptions!
  • There are to be no water, shaving cream, or like type fights in the dorms.
  • Alcohol, tobacco, and drugs will not be tolerated!!!  Two phone calls will be made by Mr. Llewellyn, one to WLU Police Department and one to Mr. Cowser.  Extreme or poor lack of student judgement and/or behavior may result in the dismissal from camp and removal from the band program.  Parents will be responsible for picking up their child from jail or camp security in these cases.
